The Entry With Breasts and Tuna That Really Has Nothing to Do With Sex
assembled @ 10:17 p.m. on 2002-01-08

I got my first Google hit today. And it was "breasts exploded". My god, did I laugh hard. I will have to find the entry that contains that lovely phrase. I wonder who would search for exploding breasts.

The cold lingers on. Hanging by a thin thread, yes, but still hanging. Now Hero has it, and he's a big baby when he's sick. It's funny to me that I can cook, clean and take care of the baby while achey, sniffy and generally miserable, while a big Marine calls in sick to work. He does have to stand duty tomorrow, though, which means being awake for 24 hours, so I can cut him some slack for taking the rest of the day off (after Pearl's pediatrician appointment).

Speaking of the appointment, Pearl now weighs 18 lbs., 7 oz., and is 28 inches long. About the size of a 9 month old. She got 4 more shots today, and her daddy and I employed the theory of "If we don't seem too upset, she won't get too upset." It seemed to work. Yes, she cried, but not inconsolable wailing. She kept looking at me while she was getting poked, with an expression that I took to mean both "Am I okay, Mom?" and "Help me, Mommy!" I'm leaning towards the first interpretation.

I haven't scanned anything else lately, so no really cute pictures for you today, unless you go here. I have Christmas pictures from Detroit, still on the digital camera, but I haven't downloaded them yet. We actually restored our hard drive to the factory settings yesterday, since the computer has been acting so screwy lately, and today was spent reinstalling many things. I haven't felt like adding web page construction to that list yet, though I do feel mildly guilty that it's already the second week of January, and I know the family is anxiously awaiting Christmas pictures. Ah well. I will have the computer all day tomorrow, since Hero is on duty. I can take care of it then.

We finally got our bankruptcy hearing scheduled, for the end of this month. What a huge relief.

Last, but not least, my new favorite site: allrecipes. I made the "Tuna Curry in a Hurry" tonight for dinner, which sounds nasty, but is actually really good. I have all this WIC tuna and dried beans piling up, so I have to figure out something to do with them. Plus, I got a rice steamer for Christmas, and this gives me another opportunity to use it. Steamed rice....mmmmmmm....

Try the Tuna Curry, really.
