I know it's typical to end the year with an entry that sums it all up, but I've been less than eager to do that. I'm so ready to move on to 2004, and to the hope that it's a better year. I don't make New Year's resolutions, because I don't fancy setting myself up for failure, but also because I believe any day can be a new start. Still, there's something about the difference between 11:59 and 12:00 for me this year. The last couple months have been, well, tough, to say the least, and maybe, just maybe, things will turn around now. Maybe Hero will find a job, and stop playing EQ so much. Maybe we can get a place of our own and stop living on the charity of others. Maybe I can stop feeling like such a loser. Maybe.
Still, there were two wonderful events that took place in 2003. We moved home, and while it was the beginning of Hero's state of unemployment, I'm glad his enlistment is up. Secondly, there is my beautiful son, sleeping contentedly, cocooned in his sling as I type about how much I love him. Happy New Year, baby boy.
