I wrote this at work today:
I'm at work right now, but I have to write to clear my head (I'm handwriting this). My brain is just spinning with creative imaginings.I'm pricing yarn and remembering the beautiful purple yarn I have at home, waiting to be made into a huge scarf for Mav's aunt. I enter inventory, and I think of the undyed yarn hanging in the back corner of the shop, like blank canvases. I look up the price of drop spindles, and I'm almost overcome with the urge to take spinning lessons, to create my own multicolored yarn, to feel the fiber drawing through my fingers, coming out the other side as something both beautiful and useful. I think of my socks, (which are finally turning out), that give me tons of simple knitting pleasure, with their simple stitch. Mostly, I am incredibly inspired to begin my wonderful enterprise, the one that came to me the night before last, and suddenly seemed so simple and clear that I can't believe I didn't think of it before. I'm almost frightened to start it, in case it doesn't work. I know I'm being vague, but that's intentional. I don't quite want to share this idea yet, not until it's a real thing. Until then, it seems butterfly-wing fragile to me. Until then, I'll just share the joy it brings me.
And now back to the present.

Speaking of things that bring me joy, my daughter is such a charmer. She had the waitstaff at Ruby Tuesday completely captivated this evening. Many of them are now on a first-name basis with her, and have even gotten hugs from her. We're taking her, on Monday morning, to a local Montessori school, to see if she likes it, and to see if it's a place in which we want to enroll her, come fall. My little girl, in school. Wow.
